Thanks for doing this Matt. The format is good, especially for readers newer to the standard phrasing. It’s good to point out deviations as well. I am not surprised he didn’t lean in on OS. China has a long, complicated history with open source and strictly speaking no major Chinese frontier model qualifies as OS under the criteria of the Open Source Initiative. Promoting “open source” is a low-cost way to secure some goodwill since few realize the distinction between open-source and open weight.
